UPTET 2026 : Eligibility Details

Primary Teacher (Class 1-5)

Bachelor’s Degree from NCTE-recognized institution
Valid teacher training qualification (BTC, B.El.Ed, or equivalent)
Final-year candidates are also eligible
Minimum 50% marks in graduation or relevant training program

Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6-8)

Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks (45% in some cases)
Valid teacher training qualification (B.Ed, BTC, B.El.Ed, or equivalent)
Final-year candidates of these courses are also eligible
Specialized education qualifications (Special Education) from RCI-recognized institutes eligible
Candidates with 50% marks in intermediate and 4-year integrated teaching program can also apply
